LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is a facilitation methodology based on the use of LEGO bricks as a metaphorical support for the expression, comparison and acceleration of decision-making processes. The metaphorical practice at the heart of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® leads to the construction of three-dimensional models of the topic at stake, whether strategic, operational or relational. Strongly based on learning sciences, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is the only methodology born and recognized by LEGO® itself to be based on the use of LEGO® bricks.

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is a powerful tool for co-constructing and negotiating work meaning in facilitation contexts: its impact on the organizational processes that use it is to democratically include each participant and maximize their conceptual and operational contribution in a bottom-up logic, building action-plans that are immediately feasible.

To whom is addressed

The training to LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® offered by HI!ACADEMY is aimed at those who wish to become a facilitator and take possession of the theoretical and practical tools to be autonomous in the supervision of the methodology. No specific prerequisite is required, except the interest in facilitation and LEGO bricks!

How does it works

Each training session has a duration of three days, within which you can live the whole experience of a workshop, take possession of the theoretical assumptions of the methodology, deepen all the aspects that anticipate and follow a workshop and, of course, start training to lead it!

What is the history of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®?

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology was born in the early 2000s, from the relationship between LEGO Group and the Swiss business school IMD. LEGO Group held the process of certification and affiliation to the network of certified facilitators until 2010, then liberalized the use of the methodology and the purchase of related materials. Currently, the international LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® community has joint points in several countries, which are headed by "historical" facilitators - including Trivioquadrivio and its HI!ACADEMY - who run workshops and training of new facilitators.

Is this the official certification course?

Beware of those who want to pass off their course as "the only official"! From 2010 onwards, in the absence of a certification conducted or recognized by LEGO Group, there are no "official" certification courses - neither in Italy nor abroad. The different partners certified before 2010 offer, all over the world and at different levels, training sessions for new facilitators. Against this background, HI!ACADEMY has started offering courses for new facilitators with a main objective: to provide an effective guidance and learning model to those in Italy who are interested in practicing the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology.

What makes the courses held by HI!ACADEMY unique?

We offer the longest and most significant experience in Italy (from 2003 to today) with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®; we organize training sessions exclusively with small working groups to maximize the learning dynamics; we devote great attention to the training phases, to the design and running of a workshop; we accompany each participant in his first works with LSP. Our goal is to provide the best LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® training available in Italian.

Will I be ready for facilitation after the course?

Anyone who completes the three-day LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® training programme offered by HI!ACADEMY is in possession of all the theoretical and practical requirements that - apart from a kit of LEGO bricks to get quickly! - let you facilitate a workshop from the day after, regardless of the specific area and theme of work. We pay particular attention to the remote assistance we offer to each new LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator formed by HI!ACADEMY.

To whom it is addressed

LSP EXPRESS is the format by HI!ACADEMY fast, quick, useful for anyone who wants to approach the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology. It offers the possibility to participate, free of charge, in the scheduled sessions to discover the fundamentals and main features of the methodology. Participation does not make the participants able to design and deliver LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshops.

How does it works

The purpose of LSP EXPRESS is to illustrate how the development of business topics can easily benefit from the principles that guide LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®. The session offers a practical and theoretical experience to start orienting yourself in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® world.
